For Record Store Day 2026, Strut Records is releasing "Nuclear War," a 2015 archival session featuring a collaboration between The Heliocentrics, members of the Sun Ra Arkestra, and vocalist Bilal. The EP includes four spontaneous reinterpretations of Sun Ra classics, blending raw psychedelic energy with avant-garde jazz. The project is the result of a unique studio recording previously held in Malcolm Catto’s personal archives. Issued on colored vinyl, the release captures a historic synergy between contemporary experimentalists and pioneers of cosmic jazz.
