French easy listening legend Paul Mauriat delivered a polished collection of contemporary pop interpretations with his 1981 album Pour le plaisir. Released on the Philips label and arranged by Mauriat alongside Gérard Gambus, the 13-track collection was recorded at Studio des Dames in Paris. The album features Mauriat's signature lush orchestral arrangements covering hits of the era, including Barbra Streisand's "Guilty," Air Supply's "The One That You Love," George Harrison's "All Those Years Ago," and the Bee Gees' "I Don't Need You". Original compositions by Gambus and Mauriat, including "Colorado Strings" and "Elle est d'ailleurs," also appear alongside the program's title track.
