Paul Mauriat - Reality (2026) [Hi-Res]

French easy listening legend Paul Mauriat delivered a polished collection of early 80s pop interpretations with his 1981 album Reality. The 13-track album features Mauriat's signature lush orchestral arrangements covering contemporary hits from the era, including an opening medley of ABBA's "The Winner Takes It All" and "Super Trouper," alongside Barbra Streisand's "Woman in Love" and Neil Diamond's "Love on the Rocks". The album is perhaps best known for its title track "Reality," the theme song from the hit French film La Boum, originally performed by Richard Sanderson. Additional highlights include "Donner pour donner" (written by Bernie Taupin and Michel Berger), "The Best of Times," and two original compositions—"Prélude '59" and "First to Fly"—co-written by Mauriat and producer Gérard Gambus.
