The son of a Philadelphia preacher and organist, drummer Rodney Green was raised on gospel music. He soon discovered his calling was to play jazz, and he began performing with Orrin Evans, Duane Eubanks and Christian McBride. Green has since worked with such luminaries as Terence Blanchard, Wynton Marsalis and Herbie Hancock. This release from Smalls Live features
