Rescued Hearts: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is the score for the 2025 documentary of the same name, directed by Krisanna Sexton and produced by Dana Croschere. The film examines the profound, often transformative bond between humans and horses, rooted in a real-life story of a seven-year-old boy with autism who spoke his first words during an encounter with a horse.
The music was composed by Los Angeles-based electric cellist and film composer Brianna Tam, whose score for the feature film Wild Fire earned "Best Soundtrack" at the 2023 Red Dirt Film Festival and "Outstanding Original Soundtrack" at the 2024 New Jersey Film Festival. Released on April 17, 2026 as a self-distributed digital Hi-Res album, the soundtrack is built around Tam's signature layered string textures — woven in real time via loop station and electric cello — alongside more intimate, acoustically intimate passages. Collaborators include vocalist Elena Flores, cellist Myra Choo, producer Spearfisher, and singer Leoncarlo. The album's architecture mirrors the film's emotional arc: from an uneasy opening through fragile recurring motifs ("A Father's Regret," the three-part "Stillness" suite) to the cathartic closing statements "Wild and Free" and "Rescued Hearts Reprise," in which all the score's thematic threads converge.
