Diving Ducks - Blue (2026) [Hi-Res]

Diving Ducks is a quartet of seasoned musicians from East Jutland, Denmark, formed in 2018. The group's core members have backgrounds in bands such as Low Budget Brothers, Knasen Blues Band, Shot Gone and Kent T. & the Delta Grinders. Originally conceived as a covers project, the band pivoted to original songwriting after pandemic-era lockdowns cancelled their planned live debut in 2020, turning enforced downtime into a productive creative period.
Blue is the band's third studio album, released on 7 May 2026 via their own Duck Records imprint. All lyrics were written by vocalist and guitarist Niels Elbæk, with arrangements developed collectively in the studio. The album title carries no strict genre declaration: as the band noted in their announcement, it reflects a way of seeing the world "through blue-tinted glasses" — a mood and an attitude rather than a literal blues statement. Musically, Blue remains faithful to the well-mapped crossroads of Americana and roots rock that define the band's identity: JJ Cale-like guitar warmth, a grounded rhythm section, and an affinity for the traditions of The Band and Van Morrison. The nine-track setlist moves from the lyrical opening of "Born Blue" through to the closing "Diving Duck Blues", a title that gives the band's name an extra layer of meaning. Blue consolidates Diving Ducks' standing as a consistent and distinctive voice in the Scandinavian Americana scene.
