"Arrives" (also reissued under the dual titles "Arrives / Comejen" or "Viva! Ricardo Ray Arrives!") is the debut studio album by renowned American pianist and composer Ricardo Ray and his orchestra, released in 1964 on Fonseca Records. This album marked the beginning of Ricardo Ray's long-running and highly successful collaboration with iconic vocalist Bobby Cruz, becoming a milestone in the emergence of modern salsa and the popularization of boogaloo and Latin jazz.
"Comején" (translated as "Termite") became a powerful radio hit, instantly establishing the young orchestra in the New York Latin scene. The album showcases Richie Ray's signature style: virtuoso piano parts with elements of classical music, a powerful horn section, and Bobby Cruz's authentic street vocals.
