Flocks - Lagoon (2026) [Hi-Res]

The German duo FLOCKS, consisting of Berlin-based drone musician Werner Durand and percussionist Uli Hohmann, releases their new album "Lagoon." The musical material of the record blends traditional ethnic elements with avant-garde experimentation, balancing between Krautrock and Jon Hassell's "fourth world" aesthetics. The sonic palette of the release is unique due to the use of custom, self-built instruments: Durand utilizes homemade wind instruments (including PVC pipes), while Hohmann incorporates handcrafted stringed instruments and classical Persian percussion. The album expands upon the ideas of their 2023 self-titled debut, offering hypnotic rhythmic structures, subtle electronic layers, and meditative drone soundscapes.
