Brion Gysin - Dreamachine (2026) [Hi-Res]

The first vinyl edition of the historically significant soundtrack by Brion Gysin and Ramuntcho Matta for the "Dreamachine"—a device designed to alter consciousness via light pulsations—has been released. This work, blending slow Afrobeat with spoken word, stands as the only musical accompaniment to the project personally certified by Gysin during his lifetime. Distinguishing itself from more aggressive psychedelic interpretations by other artists, this album maintains an Afro-Caribbean groove aesthetic and features contributions from saxophonist Steve Lacy. The release serves as a precursor to a major Gysin retrospective scheduled to open at the Paris Museum of Modern Art in April 2026.
