Guillaume Hazebrouck - En toute pyromanie (2026) [Hi-Res]

The collaborative project by Nantes-based pianist Guillaume Hazebrouck and Haitian poet James Noël represents a synthesis of jazz music and spoken word. The challenge of balancing text and music, inherent to this genre, is successfully addressed here through the integration of additional elements. The musical accompaniment of a jazz sextet featuring clarinetist Julien Stella is complemented by a second, female vocal. The overall style of the release blends contemporary French jazz, chamber music, folk motifs, and post-Baudelairean visionary poetry. The most successful tracks are those emphasizing instrumental and vocal performances, where a seamless intertwining of all creative components is achieved.
