Machito & His Orchestra & Graciela - Esta Es Graciela (1963)

The album "Esta Es Graciela" (also released under the subtitle "Our Own Graciela") is a landmark 1963 recording, formally considered the solo debut of the great Cuban singer Graciela Pérez Gutiérrez, although the instrumental accompaniment was entirely recorded by her brother Machito's legendary orchestra (Machito & His Orchestra).

The album was released on the renowned Tico Records label (later reissued under the Fania banner) and was produced by Teddy Reig.

This album is the perfect bridge between the classic Palladium mambo era of the 1950s and the emerging boogaloo and early salsa movements in New York. It is a must-listen for anyone who appreciates powerful female vocals in Afro-Cuban music.
