To celebrate her 50-year career, violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter has teamed up with Deutsche Grammophon to delve into her extensive back catalog for the famous yellow label. This project comprises seven upcoming albums, each anchored around a city that has played a pivotal role in her journey. Following the London release—and ahead of New York, Lucerne, Salzburg, and Vienna—comes the Berlin edition, featuring a dozen excerpts of famous works curated for classical newcomers. The tracklist offers an eclectic mix, including the Bach/Gounod "Ave Maria," Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons," concertos by Beethoven, Bruch, and Dvořák, and miniatures by Debussy and Fauré. The Berlin selections feature some of the violinist's key musical partners from over the years, including pianist Lambert Orkis and celebrated conductors Herbert von Karajan, Kurt Masur, and Manfred Honeck. © François Hudry/Qobuz
