This album Musik der Romantik is a live recording of the much-acclaimed Epiphany Concert 2026 from the Grosses Festspielhaus Salzburg. It features works by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Carl Maria von Weber, Antonín Dvořák and Dmitri Shostakovich, among others. Their unique sound culture as well as their special artistic interpretations distinguish the Salzburg Wind Philharmonic as one of the world's leading wind orchestras. Founded by chief conductor Hansjörg Angerer in 2002, the orchestra has released an extraordinary range of CDs and DVDs in its 20-year history. Wenzel Fuchs, one of the leading clarinettists of his time, was born in Innsbruck and played as a guest in all the major Viennese orchestras during his studies, including the Vienna Philharmonic and the Vienna State Opera Orchestra. At the age of 19, he began his professional career as principal clarinettist in the orchestra of the Vienna Volksoper, and later in other orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic. In addition to his orchestral activities, Wenzel Fuchs can also be heard as a soloist and chamber musician. He has held a professorship at the Mozarteum University Salzburg since October 2015. He also holds a visiting professorship at the Geidai University of the Arts in Tokyo and an honorary professorship at the Shanghai Conservatory and gives masterclasses worldwide.
