The international jazz quintet Skyjack, which brings together musicians from South Africa and Switzerland, is releasing its fourth studio album, "Let The Sky Open Under Your Feet." The material was created from remote sketches, tested during live performances, and recorded live in first takes at a South African studio in late 2025. The band consists of Kyle Shepherd, Shane Cooper, Jonno Sweetman, Andreas Tschopp, and Marc Stucki. The release's style blends free improvisation, chamber music, a cosmic atmosphere, and traditional African grooves. The individual backgrounds of the members span various genres and include collaborations with high-profile avant-garde and jazz artists, such as William Parker and Shabaka Hutchings.
