Paul Ngozi - Heavy Metal (Live! Nairobi International Casino!) (2026) [Hi-Res]

In the early 1970s, a distinctive music scene emerged in Zambia known as Zamrock — an original fusion of rock, acid folk, fusion, Afro-beat, South African jazz, and traditional Zambian melodies, released through independent local labels. Central figures of this movement were Paul Ngozi, Chrissy Zebby Tembo, and the group The Ngozi Family, whose sound, like that of other Zambian bands of the era such as WITCH and Amanaz, had no equivalent on the African continent or elsewhere. Since 2010, the American label Now-Again has been reissuing key recordings from the Zamrock scene, having previously released Day of Judgement, 45,000 Volts, Viva Ngozi, Heavy Connection, Lightning and Thunder, 99% Confusion, and The Ghetto. The forthcoming release I'm Not Made Of Iron represents the last significant album by Paul Ngozi and Chrissy Zebby Tembo as part of Ngozi Family, issued under license from the estate of the musician, Paul Nyirongo. The LP comes with an expanded 8-page booklet featuring biographical details, rare photographs, and the band's discography.
