After four decades of collaborating with various bands like BMX Bandits and Scam Avenue, Lawrence Kim has released his debut solo album titled The Hours and the Times. This collection of nine tracks was recorded following a period of creative silence, drawing on his extensive experience in the music industry. The album explores the state of being alone, balancing themes of peace and ache through acoustic-driven melodies and introspective songwriting. Collaborators including Emma Tricca, Peter Hess, and Stephen Chen contribute subtle instrumentation that emphasizes the artist's focused vision. While the mid-album sequence suffers from repetitive tempos, the project serves as a cohesive reflection on solitude for Lawrence Kim.
