The Athenians - Athenians: Greece (2004)

A summer collection of musical pieces by the Greek ensemble The Athenians brings together the fiery dance rhythms of syrtaki, including the famous track "Zorba the Greek," and the reflective melancholy of rembetiko. The album's sound is built around fast, masterful bouzouki playing combined with romantic vocal compositions. The tracklist features classic works by prominent Greek composers — Mikis Theodorakis, Manos Hatsidakis, and Stavros Xarchakos — alongside original songs written by the members of The Athenians themselves.
