Pangea de Futura - War Milk (2024) [Hi-Res]

The Montreal experimental supergroup Pangea De Futura, formed in 2019 by musician Eric Quach (Thisquietarmy), has released its debut full-length album “War Milk”. The octet brings together eight prominent figures involved in nearly fifty projects across the Canadian scene, including Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Silver Mt. Zion, Fly Pan Am, Exhaust, Hanged Up, and Avec Le Soleil Sortant De Sa Bouche. The ensemble's architecture relies on a massive triple-drummer rhythm section featuring Aidan Girt, Eric Craven, and Samuel Bobony, alongside a brass section (Véronique Janosy, Reüel Ordoñez, Neboysha Rakic), synth-based electronics by Charles Bussières, and heavy guitar drones from Eric Quach. The music delivers hypnotic post-rock soundscapes and tribal textural forms, meditating on elemental forces, the inception of life, suspended temporality, and structural entropy.
