Agents Of Mercy - The Black Forest (2011)

The Black Forest (2011) is the third and most mature album by the Swedish prog-rock project Agents of Mercy, formed by The Flower Kings guitarist Roine Stolt and charismatic vocalist Nad Sylvan (later the permanent vocalist for Steve Hackett's Genesis Extended tour). In contrast to the more optimistic and vibrant material of the first two discs, The Black Forest delves into a darker, cinematic, and fairytale-gothic atmosphere. The album captures the band's golden lineup, featuring keyboardist Laila Marshall and drummer Walle Wahlgren, offering a balanced blend of epic symphonic prog suites and melodic rock compositions.
