South-African born singer Ilonka is jazzed about her latest project, a light jazz-pop record for Naxos' Suite 28 Records. At age 12 she won a national singing competition in South-Africa that landed her first recording deal, launching the next six years of casino tours. With a thousand shows under her belt, she then moved to the US to pursue the next chapters in her music story. Ilonka has nine previous records and tours the US as a singer, speaker, and author of her new book 'Keeping Secrets'. Her story chronicles the dramatic and abusive life of a young girl surviving the South-African music industry, of which parts are represented in this new Naxos project 'To Be Loved'. Her music, book and life truly map a personal journey from 'What Becomes of the Broken Hearted' to having an 'Extraordinary Life'!
