Spencer Lemann is a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, composer, and producer based in Los Angeles. He is a three-category YoungArts Merit Winner, a two-time Spotlight Semifinalist, a National Merit Semifinalist, an Eagle Scout, and a recipient of the AFP Outstanding Young Philanthropist Award. Lemann has supported Music Mends Minds almost since its inception, served as student advisor to the board, and is proud to have written their theme song. He is currently working on a four-volume, multi-genre album entitled "Fourked", and pursuing a Jazz Studies degree at the University of Southern California's Thornton school of music.
Growing up in Los Angeles and taking an early interest in music, Spencer quickly took to learning multiple instruments, and grew to value all aspects of the music making process. Spencer has experience performing, composing, arranging, audio engineering, mastering and producing in a number of styles, all of which contribute to his widespread artistic approach. This is best represented by his ongoing multivolume recording project, Fourked. This groundbreaking record features the fusing of Spencer's sound with the singer songwriter, jazz, contemporary classical, and experimental electronic idioms, reflecting his journey to find a musical voice. Another of Spencer's ventures is a group with the ridiculously talented Sami Shapiro known as The Pop Initiative. Spencer also runs a small studio and recording label in downtown Los Angeles through which he releases/records his own music and the music of others.
