Jan Van Duikeren's JVD4 - Short Stories (2021)

For years it has been a great wish of Jan van Duikeren to record a ballad album with his quartet JVD4. This took an unexpected turn when the Metropole Orkest indicated that they would like to work with the quartet.

“We wanted to record the entire string orchestra plus guests Tineke Postma and Marcel Veenendaal at the same time in strive of capturing the energy of the moment. Quite a challenge to organize during lockdown and its restrictions, but it worked out very well. In fact, it turned out to be one of the most beautiful and emotional recordings of my career”, says Jan van Duikeren.
