SAIL AWAY - THE TAHITI sessions is Chris Bennett's 11th studio CD. A Grammy nominated singer/songwriter for her work on MIDNIGHT EXPRESS, Chris Bennett is an interationally known jazz singer with a mesmerizing sound and a great pianist as well. This CD was recorded on the island of Tahiti with local artists Armando Castagnoli on sax, Felix Vilchez on bass and piano, and Ariel Cruz on percussion. The beautiful live strings, arranged by Eric Doney, were added in New York where the CD was mixed by Laurent Crosasso. Co-produced by pianist, Eric Doney, it is an album that Miss Bennett recorded to help heal a broken heart and includes classic renditions of songs like THESE FOOLISH THINGS, A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FOOL, and I GET ALONG WITHOUT YOU VERY WELL as well as Chris's beautiful originals like SAIL AWAY and ALL FOR NAUGHT. This is her most powerful release to date and showcases an artist at the peak of her powers.
