For more than 15 years, Buck Gooter has not stopped raging on the American underground scene. The Harrisonburg-born duo of Terry Turtle and Billy Brett had reached the heights with their consistent discography. Alas, singer Terry Turtle passed away in November 2019, leaving Billy Brett permanently orphaned while refining the eventual final record called Head In A Bird Cage.

These are the last vocal recordings of Terry Turtle that we listen to on these fourteen compositions always so vicious and hypnotic. Buck Gooter's industrial and bewitching blues continues to have an effect and manages to make us shiver from the opening titled "Nailed To A Cross" before moving on from "Cobwebs" to "Three Wordless Books" via the visceral “Things”, “What We Do Is Pathological” and “Tusks” where Terry Turtle has been singing with the same enthusiasm since his debut.

Head In A Bird Cage bears witness to their ultimate musical madness which is expressed from beginning to end with, among others, "Like A Prayer Days" and "Paid Blues". Buck Gooter is at his best with this racy and catchy fifteenth disc which includes among other things "Sun Is Beaming" and the fanfare finale called "Dying To Believe" sadly prescient capturing all the essence of the late Terry Turtle who expresses his being and his talent wisely.
