Scala Music label, pianist Pierre-Yves Hodique invokes nocturnal landscapes in music, from Beethoven to Fabien Touchard.
“The notion of travel between sounds certainly constitutes the heart of my interpretive research. The program around the moonlight, full of dreaminess and mixing light and darkness, seems to me to best illustrate this quote from Claude Debussy: “Music is the silence between the notes”. If this musical journey presents works by Ludwig van Beethoven and Claude Debussy, it also offers little-known piano pieces by Abel Decaux, Joseph Jongen and Georges Enesco, and offers me the opportunity to concretize a friendship of more than twenty years with the composer Fabien Touchard, through the creation of the concerto for piano and electronics that I commissioned from him. » Pierre-Yves Hodique
