Trials and Tribulations (Youkali Music, 2015) is the first record from The Tribulettes, a festive and colorful Soul & Funk band from Spain. Since its founding in 2011 they´ve been forged and battle tested in Madrid’s club scene. The Tribulettes present an original repertoire with a very up-to-date and personal take on the sound and attitude of 60´s and 70´s classics.

Three powerful female voices (Paloma Soalleiro , Marina Ferrer and Celia Carballo) give Soul, Rock & Roll, Pop, R&B, Jazz and Funk a cheerful and luminous personal touch. In all their original compositions (being the lion´s share of the record) as well as the covers, the delicate vocal arrangements enhance the richness of the three very different personalities. The top notch band that backs The Tribulettes are well known figures in their own right, such as Bob Sands, Santiago Cañada, Jorge Vera, Marcos Collado, Tomás Merlo and Diego Hernando coming from jazz and funk backgrounds, and provide the band with a solid sound as well as brilliant solos throughout the record. The result is a catchy, uplifting and honest record that will make all kinds of audiences enjoy, whether they´re feeling nostalgic or looking for something new.
