The Arid Lands, created by the Prague Opening Performance Orchestra, was first performed publicly in 2014 at the Movement-Sound-Space festival in Ostrava, dedicated to the centenary of the birth of William Burroughs. The work was performed live by the orchestra and their guests, the theremin Martina Potuckova and the poet, musician and performer Pavel Z. as a storyteller. The studio version of "Acid Lands" was made in late 2019 - early 2020 in collaboration with Bill Laswell and Iggy Pop, who took on the role of narrators. In a work dedicated to William S. According to Burroughs, fragments from the novels "Western Lands" and "Drug Addict" were used. In addition to the title track of The Arid Lands, the record contains an instrumental remix by Bill Laswell, as well as the collective piece Naming Seven Souls, which features samples of William S. Burroughs reading his own works.
