The album Departures contains Polish music for violin and piano composed from the interwar period to the 1990s (Malawski, Bacewicz, Górecki, Szymanowski/Kochański), enriched with the Sonata "Post scriptum" by the Ukrainian composer Valentyn Silwestrov. This repertoire is extremely diverse and colorful. In addition to the obvious hits of chamber violin music - Lullaby by Bacewicz and Dance from the ballet Harnasie by Szymanowski, arranged by Kochański - little-known pieces were recorded. Individual compositions seem to invite you on a journey rooted in the historical realities in which they were created, but leading to a better, dream world - hence the title of the album: Departures. The guides on this musical journey are virtuosos of their instruments, and at the same time partners who understand each other perfectly - Jakub Jakowicz (violin) and Łukasz Chrzęszczyk (piano). The material was recorded by an equally masterful duo: Aleksandra Nagórko and Andrzej Sasin.
