Mario Percoco - Maschere Di Cera (2024) [Hi-Res]

In 1981, Italian singer-songwriter Mario Percoco recorded his first and only LP, "Maschere di Cera," released by Alto Livello Edizioni Musicali.

A sort of concept album exploring society and human interactions, it features ten tracks ranging from lively, sardonic urban folk blended with cheerful easy-listening arrangements ("Dio Sesso," "Lesbo," "Fumare per ricominciare") to protest songs and heartfelt ballads echoing the likes of Luigi Tenco and Fabrizio De André ("La ballata dei dannati", "Amanti nello spazio", "E' ancora amore"; "Come la neve"; "Dimmi cos'è"), and even syncopated disco-funk tracks with infectious energy ("Libera canzone").

With its folk-inspired but diverse and unconventional charm, the album is finally available for the first time in digital format.
