The album For Strings is a 30+ minute composition performed by McNamee in collaboration with cellist Klara Schumann (FAUZIA) and violinist Maria Marzaioli (Porridge Radio, Slum of Legs). The main piece features warm and soulful strings intertwining around a gently pulsing rhythmic skeleton, whereas its companion piece, Faux Strings, strips the structure back to its bare, colder, and stranger essence.
The project has received critical acclaim:
"The whole work isn’t that long but it feels immense, transporting the listener out beyond our earthly home, into the heavens. I recently saw an installation projecting galaxies onto the inside of a cathedral, and I can’t help but think this would have been the ideal soundtrack for the experience." — A Closer Listen
