Phantom Spell – Heather & Hearth marks the long-awaited return of Kyle McNeill’s cloaked prog-metal venture. Three years after Immortal’s Requiem, the travelling “wizard” trades some of his thunder for tenderness, stitching pastoral folk threads into his Hammond-driven, 70s-leaning hard-rock tapestry. Acoustic guitars and spacious, brooding interludes set up surges of organ-soaked grandeur, while lyrics spin bittersweet fireside tales about home, hope and hubris. The result is a more fragile, story-book companion to the debut—melancholic yet resolute, as if Jethro Tull and early Rainbow shared a candle-lit cottage in Middle-earth.
