The Mr Bongo label is reissuing the classic 1968 album "My Latin Soul" by Latin jazz percussionist Bobby Matos. This album is a prime example of the '60s "Nu Yorican sound" and features one of the most famous tracks in the Latin soul genre, "Tema De Alma Latina." Bobby Matos, who grew up in the Bronx and was inspired by masters like Tito Puente, greatly influenced the jazz dance and acid jazz scenes of the '80s and '90s, and his records became collector's items.
