Col Truck - One Fine Day (1976)

The Singaporean band The October Cherries was a bright but unjustly overlooked representative of Beatlesque psychedelic pop in the late 1960s. After becoming heroes in their homeland, they faced censorship and piracy, forcing them to relocate to Belgium and later to London. The band repeatedly changed its name (Truck, Col. Truck) and evolved its sound, releasing albums such as "Dreamseller" (1972), the adventurous, synth-enriched "Surprise! Surprise!" (1974), and "One Fine Day" (1976), which was mixed at Abbey Road. The October Cherries and their projects represent an important, now rediscovered chapter in Asian psychedelic pop history, bridging the pop influence of The Beatles with 1970s studio experimentation.
