Praed Orchestra! - The Dictionary of Lost Meanings (2025) [Hi-Res]

The Lebanese duo PRAED, composed of Raed Yassin and Paed Conca, returns to the Discrepant label with the new release The Dictionary of Lost Meanings, following their previous 2017 album. Known for their unique blend of Egyptian Shaabi, free jazz, and improvisation, PRAED for the second time assemble a full orchestra under the moniker PRAED Orchestra! to create a deeper and more rooted music. The new album, which follows Live in Sharjah (2020), features seven fully composed pieces and large-scale improvisations performed by an expanded international ensemble. The result is a dense and playful sound where Arabic rhythms and microtonal melodies are unexpectedly combined with electronics, warped vocals, and orchestral textures. The album blurs the lines between popular and experimental music, focusing more on memory than on genre.
