This is the FIRST COMPLETE RECORDING of Viotti’s works for flute and piano.

Although Viotti’s favoured field for experimentation was the concerto, his chamber works are also affected by a gradual transformation. Here, a first moment of cohesion to the stylistic features of the time (echoing the style of Mozart) gives way to a more personal phase in which the heightened drama poses a prelude to Romanticism.
