Daniel Sky’s new album, Songs For The World, released via Adhyâropa Records, marks a significant stylistic evolution toward a more meditative and humanistic sound. Moving away from the technical complexity of his earlier releases, Sky emphasizes accessible, song-like melodies designed to evoke inner peace. The project features long-time collaborators from the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, including keyboardists Yessai Karapetian and Tom Oren. The album’s musical architecture blends modal harmony, 1970s jazz-rock influences, Debussian impressionism, and contemporary lyricism. This release underscores Sky’s development as a composer focused on fostering an emotional connection with the audience through simplified forms and intuitive collective improvisation.
