Stella Heath - For Billie (2026)

Jazz vocalist Stella Heath has released the album "For Billie" on Matterhorn Records, a project that evolved from a Billie Holiday tribute show created in collaboration with pianist Neil Fontano. The recording features prominent musicians from the San Francisco Bay Area swing scene. Heath's objective was not to imitate Holiday, but to honor her legacy through a sincere personal interpretation blending 1940s swing, ballads, and shuffle rhythms. Alongside her performing career, the academically trained vocalist is actively involved in promoting jazz education in American public schools.
