Michael Carpenter - SOOP #4 - Songs Of Other People (2011)

Like the entire S.O.O.P. series, this release is a collection of covers. However, while in previous installments Carpenter often focused on established pop-rock hits, on the fourth volume he decided to shift the focus to "deep cuts"—less obvious, rare, or half-forgotten album tracks by his favorite artists, as well as underrated gems of the independent scene.

"SOOP #4" is an excellent guide to good, but not necessarily obvious, music from years past. The album is a breeze to listen to and is especially recommended for those who enjoy dense, guitar-driven pop-rock with impeccable taste and strong vocal delivery.
