Il Bacio della Medusa - Il Bacio della Medusa (2015)

The debut album by Il Bacio della Medusa, originally released in 2004 in a limited edition and reissued in 2015 by the cult label Black Widow Records, is one of the most striking manifestos of the classic RPI revival in the 21st century. The Perugia-based band, led by vocalist Simone Cecchini, demonstrated an impeccable understanding of the aesthetics of the golden era of Italian prog rock of the 1970s. The album combines a siesta of acoustic folk motifs, ancient European poetics, and flashes of expressive hard prog. The 2015 reissue gave the recording a renewed, deeper analog sound and underscored its status as a modern RPI classic.
