Detente - Basic Dwell (2017)

Telling a story with a fragmented narrative. Here, events respond to each other but one doesn't truly know why. The story is read in a half-burnt book where one discovers meticulously detailed scenes without knowing where, how or why. One jumps from S1E4 to S1E7 to S2E3. Completely blurry images with only a few details in focus that reveal themselves like an echo. A picture of everyday life or a tragic adventure; building a Crannog in medieval Scotland or a struggle for survival in a post-apocalyptic world. RTS or FPS. Lost memory or patchy imagination. Nothing is certain, right up to the last seconds which strike a return to reality, like a vanishing dream.

Based in Paris DETENTE is a close friend of the TGAF crew and has worked with nunu, WWWINGS and La Vie C’est Facile. After a set on Boiler Room and a year spent experimenting and self releasing bootlegs and singles, he delivers his EP Basic Dwell with sizzling, bustling and sometimes stuttering rhythms, with a touch of guitar and field recordings. He has been playing a lot in clubs in Europe last couple of years but he's also a radio regular with shows on Radar Radio, Rinse France and Hotel Radio Paris where he blends club tracks with his current favorite jams and different TV shows or video game soundtracks.
