Pain Gain is a debut album by a superproject created by three electronic musicians: Chloe Kaul from Kllo, Hamish Lefevre from SWIM, and Samuel Cooke from CRUSH3d. In 2023, they abandoned their solo projects and embarked on a week-long retreat in Australian forests, recording music with guitars, modular synthesizers, and analog equipment. The result represents a departure from their electronic heritage toward indie rock and pop ballads, showcasing a new creative approach rooted in collaboration, trust, and intuition. The album reflects genre diversity and finds beauty in unexpected contrasts, creating fresh sounds grounded in a reimagining of the group's collective past.
